Effective immediately and at the direction of Mayor Pierce, all City of Eagle playgrounds and park drinking fountains are closed until further notice to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
These playgrounds and drinking fountains are located at Stephen C. Guerber Park, Reid Merrill Park*, Friendship Park, Orval Krasen Park, Pamela Baker Park, and Plaza Park.
While park land and trails remain open at this time, visitors should observe the CDC’s minimum social distancing recommendation of six feet between people to prevent the spread of the virus and practice proper hygiene.
Update 3/26/2020 Park Bathrooms: City of Eagle park bathrooms are normally open from sunrise to sunset. However, recently someone ripped a toilet paper dispenser off the wall to steal the toilet paper inside. Due to concerns about further vandalism, the city is changing bathroom hours. Bathrooms will now be open from 8 am to 3 pm seven days a week, to allow our public works staff to adequately monitor and clean the bathrooms.
The city is keeping the bathrooms open with reduced hours because they provide a place for people using our parks to wash their hands, which is very important due to the current coronavirus outbreak. Public works staff cleans the bathrooms at least 4 times per day. We ask all park users to practice social distancing and be kind and respectful to each other and public property.
*Note: the playground at Reid Merrill Park was already closed due to ongoing construction.
