As a military dependent in a career Air Force family, Craig Kvamme saw much of the United States growing up. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1974, he first came to Idaho in 1975 for nuclear power training at the Idaho Naval Reactor Facility outside of Idaho Falls. He went on to serve in the submarine service. He retired as a captain after 30 years of active and reserve service.

While living in Idaho Falls, Craig worked at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Idaho National Laboratory (INL) for 35 years being employed by the various Management and Operations contractors. He held management positions during that time in nuclear reactor operations, nuclear waste management programs and projects.

Also, while living in eastern Idaho, Craig started to farm growing malt barley, alfalfa hay, and raising cattle. He found farming very therapeutic and gratifying. When he retired, Craig and his wife Debra had grown their farm to almost 700 acres.

In 2011, he started a construction trucking and excavation company in Idaho Falls which he still owns.

In 2013, Craig and Debra bought their home in Eagle and soon moved over to be closer to several of their children and grandchildren. Since moving to the Treasure Valley he has come to believe Eagle is unique in the area and wanted to see it remain that way. After seeing the explosive growth in the area, Craig decided to become involved and volunteered his services in area activities. He is on the board of directors on two Home Owner Associations (HOAs) and is currently the chairman of the Eagle Urban Renewal Agency (EURA).

Craig stays active by playing basketball, softball, and golf. He also enjoys the social aspects of these activities.
