1. Can I recycle glass?

Yes! A glass drop-off site is located in the parking lot between Eagle City Hall and Eagle Library (just south of 100 N. Stierman Way). It is free of charge. Please only place BOTTLES AND JARS in the glass container. NO mirrors, windows, Pyrex, dishes, tanks, lights, or ceramics. Cardboard, bags, lids, corks, and garbage are also NOT allowed at the glass site. 

2. Who do I talk to about a problem with a streetlight?

Street light issues are handled differently depending on who owns them.  

• See a map of City-owned street lights below. If a street light is city-owned, submit a report to the Public Works department.
• Streetlights located within a business complex or adjacent to a business are the responsibility of the business owner or property manager. Please complete a Code Enforcement complaint to report a light that is out http://www.cityofeagle.org/418/Code-Enforcement-Complaint
• Streetlights located in a subdivision are the responsibility of the Home Owners Association (HOA).

3. Does the City maintain a bidders list or list of contacts to receive notice of Request for Proposals (RFPs)?

No; Idaho State law regarding public bidding requirements for municipalities is detailed in Idaho State Code 67-2805; the City of Eagle adheres the requirements established by law. Advertisements for Bids, Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications are posted on the City of Eagle’s website. Additionally, publication in the official newspaper for qualifying requests is provided when required.

4. How can I dispose of my household hazardous waste?

Collection Location & Time

The City of Eagle provides Household Hazardous Waste Collection for Eagle residents quarterly on the second Wednesday of January, April, July, and October. Collection takes place at the West Eagle Park and Ride (1890 W State St, Eagle, ID 83616 ) and hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m.

Items Collected

Acceptable materials include; solvents, pesticides/herbicides, paint/stain/varnish, batteries, automotive products (including gasoline and oil), yard/garden products, fluorescent light tubes, and much more. Materials that will not be accepted include; explosives, ammunition, radioactive items, and biomedical waste (i.e. sharps/needles). 5. What is the Energy Bag (orange bag) Program?

 The program is a new solution to handle hard to recycle plastics like candy wrappers, toothpaste tubes, and packing peanuts. The plastics are converted to diesel fuel or used for energy in other ways

On your regularly scheduled recycling day, the orange bag can be securely tied and placed in the blue bin. The bags will be transported, sorted from the rest of the recycled materials, and sent to a fuel conversion center.

6. Where does the City of Eagle advertise for various projects?

Depending on the scope of work, projects are published in The Idaho Statesman and always posted on the City of Eagle's website.

7. Who do I call about a problem with my street?

In most instances, Ada County Highway District will be able to assist you with questions regarding streets. They may be reached at 208-387-6100.
